"Hey Hey" (a "most" memorable song on Pipes of Peace right?) Everyone! We're back and we did another documentary watch/review this week. And a very emotional/heartwarming one. 1997's In The World Tonight was produced to showcase the making of the now iconic 25 year old LP Flaming Pie. A real return to form for Paul, made in the homespun affair just like 1970's homemade McCartney debut. It also highlights what else Paul was up to during this period. Animated short films, classical composing, becoming knighted and naturally recording at home with Linda and family. We see tremendous footage of Paul alone in the woods with a fire strumming his guitar, contemplating life. As well as golden clips of Paul working with Geoff Emerick, George Martin, Jeff Lynne, Steve Miller. Feeling the enthusiasm of the Beatles Anthology is evident watching Paul here. Couple that with the fact this was the last time we saw/heard dear Linda on a Paul album makes it even that more special. This was originally broadcast in the USA on 16th May 1997 and on 18th May 1997 on ITV in the UK. The "Town Hall Meeting" was not part of the original broadcast and was added in for the home video release which came later in October 1997. One of our favourite "in the making of" films he's done. What say you?
