EPISODE 17 of 'All About Art': Artist Interview with April Marten (in collaboration with ARTPOWHER Contemporary) In this episode, I chat to American artist April Marten about her work but also her life experiences, her family, consumerism, living in New York as an artist during covid, and so much more. April uses art as a channel for connection and critical thought. She analyzes how we form cultural identity through social pressures such as what we purchase, consume, and digest — whether they be material goods or ideas. Through the creation of art experiences and collectible works of art, April invites audiences to celebrate the spirit of sacred individuality that makes us human and ties us together. You can find out more about April through her website or her Instagram. This episode is in collaboration with ARTPOWHER Contemporary, a collaborative art project initiative that places focus on female-identifying and non-binary creatives in the arts. The CEO, Anna Maurrasse, founded ARTPOWHER with the aim of raising awareness about gender stereotypes and gender inequality while inspiring change through creativity and collaborations.
