I asked her about her artistic practice, how she balances her professional life with her art career, her experiences in the arts as a woman, and more. For International Women’s Day in March 2021, I conducted a written interview with Claudia about her works in the online exhibition “Yin My Way Out”, presented by ARTPOWHER Contemporary which launched on Artsy on May 8th and will be coming to an end on June 10th. Within the scope of the exhibition, I wrote an essay on the art of illustration which covers the history of illustration, how the arts sector views illustration, how the emergence of the digital has had an effect on this, and why there is some friction when it comes to using the labels of “illustrator” and “artist”.
