The Meta of Monsters

Classic monster movies like the original Godzilla were made to explore themes concerning the risks of nuclear armaments and humanity’s impact on nature. Today, however, our cultural concerns have shifted and evolved over time, and with that, our movies have as well. This week, Teegan & Lindsay talk about recent films that reflect that, whether the message is more on the nose like in Don’t Look Up, or when it’s a more subtle commentary on humanity’s interference in nature ala Godzilla: King of the Monsters.
