The books were opened today and, according to Nicola Willis, it doesn't make for good reading. Economist Craig Renney joins us to talk about what the truth is in these open books versus what the politicians are telling us. Community advocate and champion New Zealander Dave Letele is closing down his South Auckland foodbank - which was supplying up to 1000 families a week. Letele told the Herald he could no longer sustain the costs of running the foodbank. He broke the news of the closure to staff this morning. The operation, which received $87,000 of Government support but was distributing more than $500,000 worth of kai, will wind down to Christmas and then close down for good. Breakfast this morning hosted Ginny Anderson and Chris Bishop who debated who good and/or bad the economy was after opening the books and how to include the transgender community in local sports.
