Rites of passage are ceremonies or rituals which mark a person's transition from one phase of their life to another. In many cultures, these rituals play an important role in helping young people understand and accept the responsibilities that come with adulthood. Sadly, in recent years, rites of passage have become increasingly rare. In our rushed and busy lives, it's all too easy to overlook the importance of taking a moment to celebrate life's milestones. However, as Aaron Guyett explains in this episode of the Brotherhood of Fatherhood, rites of passage can provide us with a much-needed sense of connection and belonging. Aaron is a Disciple in Christ, husband, father, and teacher. He founded Leaders of Leaders, which develops leaders of leaders with a systematic approach to intentional leadership, rites of passage and curriculum for youths, and 100 in His strength—a Christian discipleship course. Aaron also founded two other businesses (Innovative Results and Battle Ropes Education) and successfully sold them. Aaron led Marines in Iraq and continues to lead and teach Marines stateside as an instructor in the reserves.
