65. Nursing & Mental Health: The No Nurse Alone Movement ft. Portia Wofford

There is a stigma around mental health and it's extremely important to dive into that of the ones taking care of everyone else. In this episode, featuring Portia Wofford, we'll chat how her suicide attempt led her down the path to becoming a nurse. Portia's passion for educating and keeping patients out of the hospital prompted her to start writing and blogging on nursing and health education. Portia questioned whether she could make writing a career and that's exactly what she is doing and will be making this her full-time gig. She is also the creator of No Nurse Alone, which is a community to support nurses' mental health and well being. This community features The "What's Your Number?" and free resources and virtual counseling sessions.  Portia is a nurse, writer, content manager, and a coach for other nurse writers. Portia strives to empower nurses with resources for their mental wellbeing. She also helps healthcare organizations and entrepreneurs create engaging content that connects and converts.
