He has also served as Associate Dean for NHS Health Education England.  He holds additional roles with Health Education England as a GDP appraiser and PLVE assessor, and serves as a clinical adviser and expert witness for the General Dental Council.  Sumair has published in the British Dental Journal and BDA Indemnity Journal, and is co-authoring a textbook chapter on traumatised dentition restoration.
