21: Sharon Smart: Saving lives and providing education in Guatemala

In this very important episode, Sharon Smart, founder of Fundamaya speaks about the crucial and necessary programs that her organization runs, how they tirelessly help around the clock to ensure that the Mayan people have some food to eat, a place to sleep and urgent healthcare. Sharon explains what the needs are in Guatemala and what it is like to live there. Fundamaya has created numerous different life-changing programs such as the Sponsorship Program that allows children to attend school and get an education which in turn empowers the next generation. The Elderly Care Program which is dedicated to not providing food but breaking their loneliness and giving them community when otherwise they would be alone.
