We're embracing some rock and roll ideals and getting a little f***ing uncensored on this one... We're kicking off our coverage of the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Film Festival which runs online for all of Canada from April 29th through May 9th by sitting down with a film about some unsung pioneers in rock music. This is "Fanny: The Right To Rock". It's the 1960's in sunny Sacramento California where two Filipina-American sisters got to get to play music and start a garage band. Little did they know that it would evolve into Fanny, a rock and roll group that gathered a myriad of fans in rock and roll circles including David Bowie and documents how these amazing women were the rock and roll trailblazers that most of us didn't know existed. We sat down with writer/director Bobbi Jo Hart in the spirit of Fanny and rock and roll, and talked about it all, dropped a few F Bombs and got a real palpable sense of how important it for everyone to be able to rock whenever they damn well please.
