Documentary cinema can really hit home when it almost feels like it's happening in real time... 'The Dissident' examines the real events around when Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi disappears in Istanbul, his fiancée and dissidents around the world piece together the clues to a murder and expose a global cover up. We got the distinct pleasure to sit down with director Bryan Fogel to talk about the film and how they document something like this that is happening in real time with a wide variety of moving parts and how Fogel sees this film as less of a documentary in the traditional form and more of a vibrant real world thriller.
