We are in a very celebratory mood because it is the one year anniversary for our online course and community, Instagram For Business! In this episode, we’re sharing some of the things we learned in launching an online course and membership and offer some advice in case you yourself are considering launching something similar!Back in June 2020, we had 30 entrepreneurs join as founding members. They took a chance on us and we cannot believe how far we, and THEY, have come.Since our launch, ten of our founding members upgraded their membership and joined for our annual Mastermind program and it has been so rewarding seeing their success along the way. In this episode we chat about what it has been like to run a membership and create a course.All of the ups and downs, and what we have learned.To start, we share about our initial launch. We mean, how hard could it be, right? Not to discourage you but in all honesty… it was a lot of work. We wanted to ensure that we were bringing the most value we could and to make it create and seamless. Of course, like anything new, we made mistakes but we were so committed in getting if off and running. Our advice, just get started!We also touch base on how we marketed and welcomed in our founding members. And one of the tools we used was an opt-in. In addition to free content shared on our Instagram @thesocial.focus and on this podcast, we also knew the value in taking that audience to the next place. What place is that? Our email list. By offering a freebie (the opt-in) we were able to than speak, educate and nourish an audience that knew, liked and trusted us. As we always say, “serve, serve, serve… then sell.”So what was waiting for our members when they purchased? A full online course with four modules and 18 lessons. We set this up to be self-paced and jam-packed with value with proven strategies. And even though we loaded it with bonus material (monthly bonuses to keep everyone up-to-date with all of Instagram’s new features) as well as “done-for-you” content like styled stock images as well as content ideas… we knew that there was one piece of the puzzle we knew we needed. And that was a community. By offering a community aspect, we are better able to connect, support, cheer on our members and keep everyone up to date.
