In this episode, we discuss the importance of refreshing expectations after the winter break. As teachers, we shouldn't assume that everything will be fine when students return to school, so it's crucial to proactively remind them about the classroom expectations to avoid behavior problems. I suggest starting the first day back by reviewing and reinforcing the expectations and routines. This can be done through engaging games or activities that visually and verbally remind students about the class promises. Additionally, it's beneficial to give students the opportunity to share about their vacation experiences before diving into academic areas. In this episode I share:Setting expectations for the return from vacationReinforcing class promises and routinesFocusing on routines and expectations in academic areasRelated Blog Posts:Refreshing Expectations After BreakWelcome Back From Winter Break!Resources Mentioned:Back From December Vacation/Winter Break!Helpful Resources:December Vacation/Winter Break Activities!!New Year Celebrations Around the World!Happy New Year!Connect with Zeba:Instagram - @kindergartencafeFacebook - @kindergartencafeWebsite - www.kindergartencafe.orgTik Tok - @kindergartencafeMentioned in this episode:Trixie the Thoughtful TurtleLearn more about the newest Caring Critters book: Trixie the Thoughtful Turtle https://www.kindergartencafe.org/trixie/
