Without supplying viewership figures, the company said Monday that the claim is based on hours streamed for the pic over its first five days. Meanwhile, Samba TV, which measures viewership across a panel of 3 million U.S. smart TVs, says the Live+4D household viewership was 2.1 million. That’s a notable number, tracking 400% ahead of the same frame for Black Adam‘s 1.5M draw on HBO Max, the same as Disney/Marvel Studio’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and just under that of Thor: Love and Thunder (2.2M). Marvel’s ‘Fantastic Four’ Starts Filming in Early 2024, Director Matt Shakman Says https://www.thewrap.com/marvel-fantastic-four-reboot-filming-matt-shakman-star-trek-4/ The Marvel Cinematic Universe's Fantastic Four reboot has a filming start date, according to director Matt Shakman. While speaking with The Wrap, Shakman revealed that plans were in place to begin filming the Fantastic Four movie in early 2024. Although Marvel initially planned to release Fantastic Four in late 2024, it recently delayed it and several MCU projects. Instead of launching on Nov. 8, 2024, the Fantastic Four comes out on Feb. 14, 2025. Ant-Man 4 Conversations Already Happening at Marvel Studios (Exclusive) https://comicbook.com/movies/news/ant-man-4-conversations-marvel-studios/ With Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania -- the third film in Marvel Studios' Ant-Man saga -- drawing ever closer to its theatrical release, producer Stephen Broussard has confirmed that hushed conversations regarding a fourth entry are already taking place. "We're already thinking about it," Broussard told ComicBook.com. "It's like, every movie's its own battle and you bear the scars of making it and wanting to make it great. But hope springs eternal and you start to put yourself back together after the journey of making the movie. You're like, 'Yeah, what if we did X and what if we did Y?' Like the wheels start turning, you can't help yourself. I don't want to say anything about specifically what those are, but yeah, you can't help yourself. Those conversations, those whispers have already started to happen between myself and [Ant-Man series director] Peyton [Reed] and [Marvel Studios president] Kevin [Feige]." Speaking with ComicBook.com, Stewart was asked if he would be appearing in Deadpool 3, which is currently deep in pre-production. "I've been told to standby," the actor surprisingly revealed. "I know nothing more than that, honest." At this time, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are the only actors confirmed by Marvel Studios to be appearing in the upcoming threequel, with the duo reprising their X-Men roles as Wade Wilson/Deadpool and Logan/Wolverine, respectively. Deadpool 3 is scheduled to begin filming in May 2023. Bob Iger Says Kevin Feige Was Almost Fired From Marvel in 2015 https://www.superherohype.com/movies/526377-bob-iger-says-kevin-feige-was-almost-fired-from-marvel-in-2015 It’s hard to imagine what the Marvel Cinematic Universe would look like without Kevin Feige, since he has been guiding the studio since its inception. But if controversial Marvel Entertainment Chairman Isaac Perlmutter had his way eight years ago, Feige would have been out. Newly-reinstated Disney CEO Bob Iger claims that Perlmutter wanted to remove Feige as the president of Marvel Studios back in 2015. However, Iger intervened on Feige’s behalf and prevented this from happening. Marvel fans have heard a version of this story before. In 2020, Mark Ruffalo told The Independent that Feige was ready to walk away from the studio of his own free will after the first Avengers movie hit theaters in 2012. Because apparently, Perlmutter (who still oversaw Marvel’s film projects at the time) shot down Feige’s ideas to make the MCU a more inclusive space for female, Black, and LGBT superheroes. It wasn’t until 2015 that corporate restructuring took Perlmutter out of the equation and allowed Feige to directly report to then-Disney chairman Alan Horn. This paved the way for films like Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and Eternals to finally get the green light. However, the bit about Perlmutter actually trying to oust Feige from the studio is brand new information. Iger dropped this bombshell while speaking with CNBC about Wendy’s Company chairman Nelson Peltz’s recently-failed bid to get a seat on Disney’s board, which Perlmutter supported. When asked why Perlmutter was so insistent on having Peltz join the company, Iger remarked that the pair have “a curious dynamic.” See also https://www.cbr.com/kevin-feige-almost-fired-marvel-boss-ike-perlmutter-bob-iger-disney/ DISNEY+ Marvel’s ‘Wonder Man’ Series Sets ‘The Spectacular Now’ Director James Ponsoldt (EXCLUSIVE) https://discussingfilm.net/2023/02/03/marvels-wonder-man-series-sets-the-spectacular-now-director-james-ponsoldt-exclusive/ Marvel Studios has enlisted The Spectacular Now filmmaker James Ponsoldt to direct multiple episodes of Disney+’s developing live-action Wonder Man series. Ponsoldt is in active negotiations with Marvel Studios to join the Wonder Man series’ directorial lineup, reports Discussing Film. The task will have him working alongside an executive producer in Destin Daniel Cretton. It has also been revealed that the studio is currently planning to start production by the end of March 2023. This marks Ponsoldt’s first venture into the superhero genre, after previously directing episodes for critically-acclaimed shows like Shameless and Master of None. Hawkeye Spinoff Echo Brings a Unique Tone to the MCU, Like Werewolf By Night Did https://www.cbr.com/echo-hawkeye-spinoff-unique-tone-werewolf-by-night-mcu/ The producer of Echo explained how the series will be different from other stories in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In an interview with Collider, Stephen Broussard was asked how production is going on the recently delayed Echo series. "[Production] is going well," he answered. "It's very different. Like, talking about Werewolf By Night to this. It's a very different tonal sort of thing. I don't want to say too much because there's not a whole lot out there in the world, but it feels very grounded, it feels very spiritual in ways that feel fresh for us. [Alaqua Cox] as the lead is incredibly compelling. I'm sort of hard-pressed to think of something that it feels like outside in the broader realm of the MCU, let alone within what we've done here. So stay tuned on that really cool stuff."
