The US Federal Reserve is willing to tolerate a recession as a necessary trade-off for regaining control over inflation. The US central bank raised interest rates by 75 basis points for the third time in a row, leaving the Federal Funds Rate between 3% and 3.25%. It also forecast a further tightening of 1.25 percentage points by the end of the year.
