As the saying goes, old habits are hard to break but new ones are even harder to make. But maybe we just don't have a clear understanding of how change actually occurs, as well as the types of things we are doing that hold us back from being able to initiate and sustain the types of change we want to make. On today's podcast, we have Dr. Greg Matuskiewicz who joined us to engage in a dialogue on the subject of change and the steps one must typically go through for change to become more permanent. Greg made a change later in life to pursue academically the many questions he has about why we do what we do after a career where his primary role was to grow revenue and engage customers through memorable experiences in both the entertainment and technology fields. It was during this career where he became deeply interested in human behavior and the role our biopsychosocial characteristics play in who we become, so he decided to pursue a master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and along the way, complete a doctorate in Sport and Performance Psychology. Greg has had a lifelong fascination with how humans learn and what it takes to perform optimally, especially in environments of high stress and his integrated approach to understanding a client's needs helps him identify the areas of resistance that are holding them back so that they can build new frameworks for improvement. With the New Year right around the corner, this conversation could not have come at a better time! You can also find more Richard Listens content on Instagram (@RichardListens), Facebook (@Richard Listens), and RichardListens.com.
