Would you consider yourself as a “job hopper”? What does it mean to change your job every 2-3 years because your employments are based on fixed term contracts? Marina Ponomareva loves exactly this challenge. Originally from Russia, she has studied in the Netherlands and came to Finland as a junior professional. She has followed an impressive – and very diversified – career path, working in IT, as a project manager at the Nordic Investment Bank (our common employer), leading the program ‘Entry Point’ for international talents in Espoo and now finally found her passion in working as a recruiter. In the first part of this interview, you can learn from her experience When you should change your career path How you can convince employers to hire you in a new field of business How to build up the motivation for continuous self-learning How to deal with rejections and the feeling that you want to give up This is the first part of the interview with Marina. In the second part (episode #48), she will share a lot of valuable insights from her job as a recruiter and answers tricky questions about writing a CV, negotiating the salary and dealing with references from abroad. You can find Marina Ponomareva and more of her recruiting insights on LinkedIn.
