Studies even have shown that more people are afraid of public speaking than are afraid of dying! For many years, I was very shy and always super nervous when I had to speak in front of others. Both my body and my voice were shivering, I was sweating like hell and was just worried that anyone can think badly about what I am saying or how I look like. It was a fear of being rejected. Nowadays I enjoy doing public speaking as a hobby, I am a member of the Toastmasters organization and just recently have won an international contest in improvised speaking.
