Seth Appert took over the men’s hockey program at RPI prior to the 2006-07 season.  A coach who routinely has one of the toughest schedules in the nation, Appert talks about the importance of the mental game of ice hockey and competing one shift at a time as well as coaching the most important aspect of the game. Prior to starting his tenure at RPI, Appert was an assistant at Denver and was responsible for signing numerous nationally ranked recruiting classes during his nine years with the Pioneers.  Among those he coached or recruited at Denver were the 2006 Hobey Baker Award winner, eight All-Americans, a WCHA Player of the Year, 22 All-WCHA picks, three WCHA Defensive Players of the Year, two WCHA Student-Athletes of the Year and 17 NHL draft picks.  The Pioneers averaged over 23 wins per year during his time as an assistant coach and captured two NCAA national championships, three WCHA playoff championships and two WCHA regular-season titles. Appert was also a four-year letterwinner in the net at Ferris State from 1992-96. Follow Coach Appert on Twitter @SethAppert Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
