Meet Dr Seamus Delaney, a science education lecturer and researcher from Deakin University. He has a real passion for chemistry education and for the past 15 years has been heavily involved with making chemistry accessible for students of all ages. together with the team from Deakin University, Dr Delaney is making a fantastic impact! Hosted by Ben Newsome from Fizzics Education About Dr Seamus Delaney Dr Seamus Delaney is a Science Education Lecturer and Researcher at Deakin University, Australia. He has worked as a classroom teacher, Head of Science, Head of eLearning, teacher educator and researcher in both Australia and Switzerland over his last 15 years. He is a committee member of the Chemistry Education Association (CEA), he co-founded the Early Careers Chemistry Network (ECCN) which supports chemistry teachers early in their careers.  Seamus’ research interests are chemistry education, the incorporation of augmented and virtual reality into teaching and learning, and science education in out-of-school/informal learning contexts. Presently, Seamus is involved in an ongoing, international interdisciplinary project with chemistry and education researchers focussed on re-positioning chemistry as the sustainability science, and many teaching and learning resources from this research are available on the Elements of Sustainable Chemistry website, a group he co-established with other Deakin Science researchers.
