Last week, Lilie James, a water polo coach at an elite school in Sydney, was found dead. Her death sent shock waves not just through her school community, but across Australia. In part, it was because of her youth, and innocence. She was only 21, and was found dead in the school in which she worked. The man suspected of killing her was a fellow staff member, with whom she had had a brief relationship. But as shocked as people are, James’ death touches on a much wider problem in our country.
