If God, Why Suffering?

Suffering is painful and it’s real. I’m not going to just dismiss it by saying “there is no ego/self/me that suffers” like you might hear from neo-advaitins or non-dualists. I used to bypass the notion of suffering with that sort of quick dismissal, by just pointing to the transcendent nature of who we really are which is beyond birth and death entirely, but as I’ve moved further, I’ve found that to be a cheap and very surface level form of escapism.Have a question?
