Synergistic Saturdays-#343 December 9 The Strong Within Daily Affirmation Podcast Success Is Only Natural To Me "I never dreamed about success. I worked for it.” Estee Lauder Why do we credit failure as being easier than success? We all know at least one or two stories of great failures…maybe we’ve even attributed our life to those stories. And I believe that we think failure is easier than success because we’ve looked upon failure and success as two different paths…when instead, they’re the same road. And not only are they the same road, but they are going in the exact same direction…and maybe even happening at the same time. Inspiration doesn’t just appear...at least not consistently. Inspiration is created more often when you sit down and do the work. Take for example: Great salespeople don’t just show up and are great at making people buy things from them. They’ve put in the time to think about the objections that could happen, they’ve put in the time in to believing in their product, and they’ve put in the time in being concerned with the customer by helping them make the best decision. Take a look at education. Education comes not from knowing everything but being willing to be taught. And my last example is on strength. Strength comes from being vulnerable by learning from where our weaknesses lie. To push maximum loads with our body or even our mind we have to see where our failure points are and be willing to reach them consistently to grow from them. So when we tell the story that failure is going the other way than success, we miss the whole lessons of what failures really are to us. Failures are the pathway to success. For every successful story or person we see, they’ve been riddled with lesson upon lesson of failure and learning to get back up. And we as observers want successful people’s successes to be accidental, not just because we are envious of their gifts, but we think it might help us. If they reached the top by accident, then maybe our pursuit could be just as easy. Maybe we could sidestep all the effort and years of growths and failures to find ourselves upon a less painful road. We use buzz words like growth hacking, biohacking, or any other word to answer how we can get to places faster without doing the necessary work. As we are marketed and bombarded with the message that what you want is achievable in 4 easy payments, or by taking this pill every day, or if it takes longer than 30 days then you are doing something wrong. And so we are made to feel stupid, because the perception of success is sold to us as if it’s only in 3 easy steps. And there is truth that success is doable in 4 easy steps, but we are marketed that those steps happen instantaneously or quickly. So, I’m going to share the 4 secret steps to success with you…so get ready to take notes: Put in the time Make plenty of mistakes Learn from those mistakes And repeat the process over and over again Ok, I’m sorry I tricked you in thinking I would give you the exact formula. But I want you to remember that success is natural if you believe it is natural to you. And when you understand that success is not avoiding mistakes or finding yourself at the goal as fast as possible…I can guarantee you will start seeing yourself as more successful right now. Successful people stay successful because they are willing to do the work, they are willing to make mistakes and get back up learning from those mistakes, and because they are willing to change their perception of success. They are willing to see themselves as naturally successful every day. Today’s Personal Commitment:Success is relative, and sometimes we only will define ourselves as successful once we hit our major goals. However, what if you were to look at all the things you already have in your life and define yourself as already being successful? Now this is not an exercise to say I’m done in life, by only appreciating what I already have, but it’s a perception change to show you how successful you already are…so you can continue building upon your success. So look back at your life and ask who you had to be… to get the things you have now, and then ask yourself who will I have to be now to elevate to the successes I desire?
