Jennie Louise Touissant Welcome (1885-1956) was one of the first Black female silent film creators in the 1910s and 20s, most well known for her documentary, Doing Their Bit. She was also a renowned painter, musician, and real estate mogul who ran the Toussaint Conservatory of Art and Music.
