The Act of Counting

Who gives a voice to the displaced, the exiled, the lost? Someone who attempts to do so in every way is Nathalie Handal. In this poem, The Act of Counting , she takes us on a journey into the depth and breadth of loss that can be experienced by refugees and victims in the wake of cataclysms like the 2010 earthquake in Haiti.
