#49 - the cost of authenticity

In this episode we talk about how the path to authenticity can be a lonely one..... and WHY most people never get there & revert back to their old identities. - The more ”you” you become, the more layers you have had to shed to get there. As you get older, wiser & more mature you start to realise you have two choices in life... - As you start to unravel who you really are, who you desire to be & what you want in life - that comes with a cost of losing people, identities, things, environments, habits, relationships, etc - Maybe your prices have increased... Maybe your niche changed & evolved... Maybe your boundaries changed... Maybe your style of content shifts... Maybe your idea of fun has shifted… Maybe your conversations change… Maybe your offers are evolving & changing... Whatever “your thing” is for evolution. - When this happens, as mentioned, you have two choices. - #1. Choice is to back down & go back to who you were, don’t grow, don’t evolve & expand your body of work. Go back to exactly who people feel comfortable with your remaining. Be the good girl, sit down & stay small. - #2. Choice is to decide to evolve anyway. Let people unfollow, let people leave, let people think you’re cringe, let people misunderstand you, let people not “get it”. You’re not theirs to get. Choose yourself.
